On the propagation of the high-altitude Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse
A second-order integral equation method(IEM)was introduced to simulate the high-altitude nuclear electromagnetic pulse(HEMP)in our former report. Here the second-order IEM is used to analyze the propagation characteristics of the HEMP.The near field part and far field part of the HEMP are calculated separately to see which takes more important roles in the radiation of the HEMP.A simplified IEM is also introduced during this process, and computing time and memory are saved. The results show that the transverse electromagnetic field consists mainly of far field, and the radial electric field is generated only by the nearby current source.
