A Helix Antenna with Broad Beamwidth for Wideband Applications
In this letter,a microstrip fed helix antenna with more than 40%bandwidth is presented.The application of conventional helix antenna was limited by radiation pattern in different fields.By this means,a novel rhomboid plate structure is employed to widened beamwidth of the helix antenna in the whole bands.The beamwidth of the proposed antenna is reduced to ±60°over the impedance matching bandwidth ranging from 8GHz to 12GHz(VSWR<2),which is an improvement to the previously reported helix antennas.
