Enhancing Color Conversion Efficiency of Quantum Dot LED by Electric Field Assistance

  Based on electrohydrodynamic mechanics principle,this paper proposes a quantum dot(QD)LED dispensing package with adjustable profile to overcome the uneven coating distribution and uncontrollable structure of traditional dispensing coating which reduces the utilization of QDs The process of dispensing package is performed between two parallel plate electrodes with the distance of 5mm,and the polymer is changed by adjusting the electric field strength between plates.The dielectric power thus regulates the profile of the dispensing coating.The experimental results show that the peak value of the yellow band spectral intensity of the QD LED formed at 2.5kv voltage is 11.19%higher than the sample formed without voltage.And the luminous efficiency is 9.76%higher at the rated power,and the correlated color temperature(CCT)is reduced by 2491K under the same dispensing amount of coating material.Consequently,the color conversion efficiency and angular color uniformity(ACU)are improved simultaneously.The novel packaging method can obviously improve the optical performance of the quantum dot LED with a simple operation and low manufacture cost,which is promising in the industrialization prospect.
