A Comparative Study of Ba Jin and Mahfouz from the Perspective of Female Characters
Mahfouz and Ba Jin are two outstanding writers.Both of them choose family as their novelsbackground and they are advocates of women liberation.They create some female characters,some of whom are traditional women restricted by ethical norms,patriarchal culture and their own shortcomings; some of whom are“perfectwomen with authorsideal expectation.Both authors express their views on women by the portrayals of these women and through the development of women,their works enlighten society,promoting social progress,and realizing the innovation of national spirit.
