A Study on the Application of the Schema Theory to English Reading Teaching in Senior High School
Schema theory is a creative and effective teaching theory and strategy system which is widely used in English teaching.The Schema theory holds that any language material,whether spoken or written,has no meaning by itself and it only guides listeners and readers to recover or constitute new knowledge based on their original knowledge.This paper combines with realistic situation in reading comprehension in senior high school,and summarizes the types and functions of schema which have effects on the English reading teaching.This paper attempts to help teachers achieve a better understanding of the schema theory and its effect on improving English reading in senior high school.
