Lexical Co-occurrence and Text Translation from Perspective of Cognition
Translation is a process of both communication and cognition.Lexical co-occurrence,a common language phenomenon in English, reflects speakerspreference of using words as well as their ways of perceiving the world.Three rules of lexical co-occurrence is discussed with examples and analyzed from perspective of cognition. The paper concludes that lexical co-occurrence is also a strategy in expression to minimize the readers effort to understand the speakers discourse meaning.Translation should be based on deep insight into implicit relationship of co-occurrence words in a text.
