Morality or Immorality:Reread Ben Johnsons Volpone

摘要：

　　Ben Johnsons Volpone,or the Fox,firstly produced in 1605,is taken as one of Johnsons best-known comedies.One of the main purposes of Johnsons writing Volpone is to arouse peoples original beliefs,reestablish their attitudes toward life and the world.This paper aims to dig out the moral traits under the surface of the immorality in the play and make Johnsons humanistic spirit and ethical guide inspire people in modern complex society.Meanwhile,illuminate those who are walking in the mist through rereading the classical play.
