Chinese ScholarsUse of Lexical Bundles in Translated Abstracts of Linguistic Articles

　　This article explores Chinese scholarsuse of lexical bundles in translated abstracts on the basis of three self-built corpora of linguistic articles.The findings show that Chinese scholars are competent in the use of research-oriented bundles but mechanically literal translation should be avoided.Text-oriented bundles are used significantly fewer while participant-oriented bundles are used markedly more frequently in translated abstracts.More attention should be given to framing and structuring signals and to the non-living subject structure of bundles.Varied forms of bundles are also suggested in the translation of academic abstracts.
