Reducing Bullwhip Effects in Supply Chain Systems via H∞ Control
To solve the bullwhip effect on supply chain members,H∞ control is used to inhibit the bullwhip effect and ensure the stable operation of the system.Focusing on a member in the supply chain,a linear discrete-time system composed of a controlled object and a steady controller was constructed.Because the parameters of the bullwhip effect have the same value with the H∞ norm of the system,the robust controller was introduced into the system and replaced the prediction function.This method can effectively solve the problem of order amplification caused by the variation of customer demand.The simulation results show that compared with the traditional prediction algorithm,the H∞ controller proposed in this paper can more effectively attenuate the bullwhip effect caused by fluctuations of customer demand.
