On the Translation of Museum Interpretive Texts on Chinese Calligraphy and Paintings within the Framework of Cross-Cultural Pragmatics
This article takes the interpretive texts on Chinese calligraphy and paintings in the Metropolitan Museum of Art as its research objects,explores the pragmatic features of the interpretive texts,and discovers the gap between English interpretive texts on Chinese calligraphy and paintings in the American museum and English translations in the Palace museum.In the end,the essay discusses the English translation strategies under the cross-cultural background and provides a theoretical basis for the improvement of English interpretive texts in domestic museums.
