　　The contrast technique is a very important writing skill T.S.Eliot uses in “The Waste Land.Through the use of contrast in themes of love and lust,life and death,past and present,Eliot paints for readers a vivid picture of the barren modern civilization and modern mans spiritual waste land,and he also points out the causes of the waste land and ways for its salvation,which shows the poets eager desire and hope for the regeneration of the waste land.
