The Study on English Language Ability of Business English Majors

  This study aims to analyze the differences and similarities in the English language ability of Business English Major(BEM)undergraduates of two types of universities by adopting language proficiency scale CEFR(2001)and a self-made questionnaire so as to provide empirical reference for the improvement of BEM students core abilities and curriculum design in the future.The research results show that the overall English language ability varies less,but differences of certain sub-competences such as oral production,listening comprehension and written production still exist and are influenced by the diversity of curriculum between the two universities to some extent.
