Temperature-dependent transformation ratcheting of super-elastic NiTi alloy:experiments and simulations
A series of the stress-controlled uniaxial cyclic experiments at different temperatures is conducted on NiTi alloy micro-tubes 1,2.It is demonstrated from Fig.1 that, with increasing temperatures in the range of 20 to 100℃,the stress-strain curves in the first cycle changes drastically, the stress-induced martensitic transformation is gradually inhibited, and the transformation strain decreases but transformation stress increases gradually.
