A Skin-inspired Fully Autonomous Polymeric Material under Damaging Events
Autonomous warning and repairing of damages is crucial to increase safety and extend lifespan of the servicing materials.Whereas these functions can be integrated easily and implemented simultaneously by nature,it is exceedingly challenging to be achieved in synthetic materials,owing to the difficulty in integrating different functional elements for packaging and the lack of suitable vehicles for carrying multi-role triggers with high reactivity to activate the required functions autonomously without any external interventions.
