Particle roughness-Measurement and applications in pharmaceuticals

Among the physical characterization tests for particles, surface roughness is perhaps one of the very apparent but not easily quantifiable properties.Thus, the measurement of roughness is not as widely carried out for particulates and finish products.However, surface roughness can have profound impact on some pharmaceutical applications, in particular, the formulation of dry powder inhalation products.
