Pulmonary Delivery of Peptide Drug Using Surface-modified Liposomes to Improve Systemic Absorption

We have investigated surface-modified liposomes (100-200 nm) for pulmonary delivery of a peptide drug.Chitosan oligosaccharide (oligoCS),polyvinyl alcohol with a hydrophobic anchor (PVA-R)or carbopol-wheat germ agglutinin conjugate (CP-WGA) were examined as surface modifiers.The effect of liposomal surface modification on the behavior of the liposomes on pulmonary administration were evaluated in vitro and in vivo.
