Role of Transporters in Drug Toxicity

It is well known that transporters play an important role in drug absorption, distribution,metabolism and excretion of body.Transporters are strongly linked to not only the efficacy but also the safety of numerous drugs.The resent report introduces the clinical cases about adverse drug reaction or drug toxicity and the underlying mechanism based on drug transporter.In addition, this report outlines the effects of gene polymorphism, pathology,physiology, drug combination as well as Chinese patent medicine on the expression and/or function of drug transporters, which will provide new ideas or strategies on how to promote rational drug use and reduce risk of adverse drug responses as well as drug toxicity in clinical.
