Acid-Activatable Nanoparticles for Combating Drug Resistant Cancer
In this report, we presented novel acid-activatable polymeric nanoparticles for combating multidrug resistance in breast cancer. The nanoparticles displayed silenced fluorescence during the blood circulation, while activated at weakly acid condition in the endocytic vesicles to induce fluorescence signal for fluorescence imaging.Upon near infrared (NIR) laser irradiation, the micelle generated reactive oxygen species (ROS) to trigger cytosol release of the chemotherapeutics and perform photodynamic therapy (PDT).This robust nanoplatform reported in this study might provide a novel insight for designing novel drug delivery systems for therapy of drug resistant cancer.
