Drug Interactions Study of Atorvastatin Calcium with Kaempferol and Quercetin

　　This study was aimed to investigate the drug interactions of atorvastatin calcium with keaempferol or quercetin in vitro and in vivo in rats.The in vitro and in vivo drug interations were concluded that kaempferol and quercetin exhibited mediate inhibitors of metabolism of atorvastatin calcium in vitro;however, plasma concentration of atorvastatin calcium was merely increased by high-dose of kaempferol in rats.Pretreatment of high-dose of kaempferol may increase the incidence of adverse reactions such as myopathy by inhibiting the metabolism of atorvastatin calcium.Therefore, concomitant use of high-dose of kaempferol with atorvastatin calcium requires close monitoring for potential drug interation.
