Coupling Sustained-Release Profile with Enteric Characteristics via Preparing CS-SA Gel Beads

　　Considering that drugs with gastrointestinal irritation are pervasive, the formulations coupling sustained-release profile with enteric characteristics are in request.Ketoprofen gel beads based on chitosan-sodium alginate was prepared by the improved one-step method and optimized via the Orthogonal Experiment Design, avoiding the defects in the original methods.The matrix presented an unparalleled enteric and sustained release profile directly without coating, which has simplified process and eco-friendly feature,ultimately suggesting a coupled Fickian diffusion-erosion mechanism.
