The Theoretical Framework for Teachers Media and Information Literacy
Media and information literacy(MIL)is one of the most important competences of the digital citizens,plays a vital role in their digital lives.In the media and information literacy education in school,teachers act as instructor and guide student to master the skills of MIL,so it is necessary to improve teachers media and information literacy.From the perspective of teachers,this paper aims to set up a framework of MIL to investigate teachers MIL.Based on the proposed indicators,such as Global Media and Information Literacy Assessment Framework,which was published by UNESCO in 2013,a theoretical framework was established subsequently in this research.However,a 4-dimension 7-element model(MIL consciousness,MIL cognition,MIL competences,MIL ethic)was expected to evaluate teachers MIL,and this model can also support the further empirical research on MIL.
