Analyzing Lessons on Intercultural Understanding and Instruction~Case Study on Grade 4 Integrated Study about Cambodia~
The purpose of this research is to clarify the relationship between student's intercultural understanding and teachers' teaching behavior.This case is the integrated study class of a private elementary school in Osaka.The authors analyzed The Cambodia Book created by student to gain insight how students got intercultural understanding.In addition,the authors observed class activities and recorded dialogue in the lessons to analyze relationship between student's intercultural understanding and teachers' teaching behavior.As a result,the relationship could be organized in the following three categories: [knowing Cambodia culture],[understanding the cultural background],and [creating students' thoughts].Furthermore,the authors conclude that the case was considered the importance of understanding the cultural background in intercultural understanding education.
