Technology and Student Plagiarism:Does Technology Push or Pull Student Plagiarism?
In this presentation,the presenter will address the role of fast-evolving information technologies to both push and pull student plagiarism and other unethical behaviors in the context of college classroom.Based on the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data collected from college students in Korea,the study categorized types of technology-driven plagiarism committed by college students as well as presenting various technological solutions to prevent student plagiarism such as anti-plagiarism software and process-oriented tools to monitor student progress.Finally,the study will present practical guidelines to best support meaningful learning and promote academic integrity with appropriate use of technology.
