Visualizing the Student Thought with Thinking Tools in Moral Education

  The purpose of this research is to examine using Thinking Tool in a moral education class.In Japan,moral education is subject to a curriculum.So the author would like to determine if students opinions changed through mutual communications while using thinking tools.In addition,thinking tools were used to facilitate students sharing of their thinking and cooperative learning.According to a prior study,the teaching ability of the teacher is not enough and it is not clear what children learned in moral education.The author will study how students learn from each other collaboratively and by using thinking tools.As the research method,the author observed 28 students at a public high school in Hiroshima,Japan.Worksheets that students used in their moral education class was analyzed to obtain data.Students thinking before and after using Thinking Tool was revealed.After analysis of the data,the author found that after using Thinking Tool the bases for their opinions increased.
