A Case Study of Education Data Mining Based on WEKA
This paper selects research cases from Journals and tries to improve the research of predecessors through WEKA data mining.Based on the research of Godwin,K.E.,this research generates simulation data which corresponding to the key variables in the case, and using WEKAto impliment data mining and data analysis to predict the off-task behavior of students.Through feature screening, model training and evaluation, and visual analysis of results, the final model yielded the best model accuracy of 69.71%.The results show that WEKA data mining can verify the relationship between gender, the types of teaching activities, the transformation of teaching activities, the duration of teaching activities and the ontask behavior of students, and with this approach, teachers can predict the ontask behavior and also improve their instructional design.
