The House-Museum of Viktor Ambartsumian in Byurakan
Viktor Ambartsumian House-Museum represents the life and scientific activity of one of the greatest scientists of 20st century.Viktor Ambartsumian (1908-1996).Although he became famous mostly as an astrophysicist, he was distinguished also as a mathematician and physicist (Fig.3).Ambartsumian was the one who changed the human understanding of the Universe, introduced the idea of the evolution of the Universe.He was also one of the founders of theoretical astrophysics, the creator of statistical physics of stellar systems, stellar dynamics etc.The Museum introduces the visitors the evolution of human understanding of the Universe from antique times up to the end of 20st century, and V.Ambartsumians biography serves as an example how a man can influence the development of science.
