The Empirical Study on R&D Efficiency of High-tech Industry in China Based on Two-stage DEA
This study employs two-stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to measure R&D efficiency of the 28 Chinese provinces, and analyze the environmental factors influenced on R&D efficiency by Tobit model.There are three inputs and two outputs included in this paper, and eight environmental factors are used to analyze effect on R&D efficiency.The finding shows that the entire R&D performance of China is relatively lower and the entire efficiency gap between each area is also quite large.Only Beijing is efficiet and Tianjin is just behind Beijing, while Heilongjiang is the worst relative the other provinces.R&D efficiency of high-tech industry in China could be further improved to a large extent.In addition, six environmental factors have a significant effect on R&D efficiency.
