Since the reform and opening-up, in particular in the 1990s, although Yunnan has established the cooperative mechanism with India in many fields and has obtained considerable achievements with regards to people-to-people exchanges and cooperation,on the whole, the Yunnan-India people-to-people exchanges and cooperation is relatively backward, narrow and insufficient.
