Dear Colleagues: For a while now, I have been interested in cities as spaces of knowledge production about nature and the environment and I am very happy and grateful to have the opportunity to discuss some of my ideas with you.In thinking about the connection between knowledge about nature and urbanity, I will focus on the specific phenomenon of wild animals in the nineteenth-century city.
