Combustion efficiency and emission characteristics in a 0.1 MWth Oxy-CFBC system

  Oxy-fuel combustion is considered one of the most promising carbon capture technologies.Oxy-fuel circulating fluidized bed combustion (Oxy-CFBC) has increasingly focused on a promising power generation technology for carbon capture utilization and storage which can easily diversify fuel.The challenge in this research is to optimize the Oxy-CFBC process to produce high-purity CO2 for close to zero-emissions and to increase combustion efficiency.Through the operation test with sub-bituminous coal and lignite, the CO2 puruty was above 95 vol.% (dry) and the air pollutant removal efficiencies were 100% of deSOx (in situ and wet), 90% of deNOx (SCR and SNCR), and 99% of dust removal (advanced bag filter).The oxy combustion efficiency was above 99%, which was 2% more than the air combustion efficiency.
