The characteristics of NO and N2O emissions during O2/RFG combustion with high oxygen concentration in a 1MWth pilot-scale Oxy-fuel circulating fluidized bed
To explore the emission performance of NO and N2O during oxy-fuel combustion with high oxygen concentration, tests were carried out on a 1MWth pilot-scale oxy-fuel CFB combustion unit. The chemistry of fuel nitrogen conversion was also qualitatively discussed in this paper.Comparing with that in air combustion,it was found that NO emissions were lower in oxy-fuel combustion whatever the overall oxygen concentrations were, while N2O emission was much higher in oxy-fuel combustion.Besides, the effects of typical operating conditions, such as overall oxygen concentrations, average combustion temperatures, in-situ desulfuration, and staged combustion, were also studied systematically in present work. Moreover, the behaviors of fuel nitrogen conversion under different reacting atmospheres were also introduced in this article. It seemed that the atmospheres changing from O2/N2 to O2/RFG could suppress the releasing of fuel nitrogen to NO, and the increasing of overall oxygen concentrations could enhance the oxidation from fuel nitrogen to NO in pilot-scale.
