A study on oxy-combustion in a large circulating fluidized bed boiler with IEA-CFBC model
This study is a numerical analysis using IEA-CFBC program for the application of pure oxy-combustion based on commercial circulating fluidized bed boiler design.Oxy-combustion was assumed for CO2 recirculation process and boiler operation characteristics were analyzed while fuel and oxygen were fixed and CO2 amount was changed.The decrease in solid fraction and circulation rate due to the change of amount of fluidizing medium in the boiler caused a change in the heat balance in the heat exchanger.It has been found that this has affected the continuous rise of the internal temperature of the boiler.This confirmed that the need for an external heat exchanger and that the load on the external heat exchanger should be moderately varied.
