A NOVEL MINIATURE ULTRASONIC MOTOR WITH A SCREW-COUPLED STATOR AND ROTOR FOR ZOOM ENDOSCOPES
Zoom endoscopes have become very important in clinical diagnosis and minimally invasive surgery.Endoscopy application in human body imposes strict requirements on the size, precision and clamping methods.This paper proposed a small size ultrasonic motor with screw-coupled stator and rotor which can be easily fixed for endoscope zooming.The motor utilizes two orthogonal bending modes and a preload between the stator and the rotor generated by the thread.The motor can realize a spiral linear motion without any other transmission structures.A finite element method is used to optimize the size of the motor.The prototype ultrasonic motor has a maximum diameter of 10.4 mm and the longitudinal length of 20 mm.Experiments show that the motors linear moving resolution is up to 1 μm, moving speed is up to 4.87 mm/s.
