QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION METHOD OF SEISMIC RESILIENCE FOR CRITICAL PROJECTS-CASE STUDY REGARDING THE URBAN WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
Four attributes of the concept of resilience were reviewed regarding redundancy, robustness, rapidity, and intelligence respectively.Studies about three main well-acknowledged evaluation indicators for critical projects resilience were then summarized including probability of resistance to earthquake, post-disaster consequences and recovery time.A quantitative evaluation method for seismic resilience was then introduced to construct resilience curves. To illustrate the whole procedure, the post-earthquake resilience performance of one urban water supply system in China was analyzed as an example case. The earthquake damage rate of the system was calculated concerning the site condition, pipe diameter and macro-seismic intensity as parameters. The resilience curves were then derived under different damage rate.It turns out that the damage ratio has significant impact on the robustness of the systems resilience, and thus affect the recovery time.
