SURFACE TENSION-INDUCED STRESS CONCENTRATION AROUND AN ELLIPTICAL HOLE IN PIEZOELECTRIC MATERIAL

  In the present paper, a series solution based on conformal mapping is derived for the electro-elastic field inside an anisotropic piezoelectric solid containing an elliptical hole when it is subjected to surface tension along the surface.Emphasis is put on the relationship between the hoop stress and the curvature of the curve.The local minimum value of hoop stress will appear with the maximum curvature for certain eccentricities.
