Optimization of the Mix Proportion for Desert Sand Concrete Based on Statistical Model
The application of desert sand concrete can save project cost, and alleviate the consumption of original resources, at the same time, promote local economic development and protect the ecological environment. This study carried out experimental research on the mix proportion of desert sand concrete.Regression models between water cement ratio (w/b), sand rate (f/g), replacement rate of desert sand (d/f), dosage of water reducing agent (WRA) and slump and compressive strength of desert sand concrete had been established and statistical analysis of regression models were carried out. Then, the influence of each factor on the related performance of concrete was analysed. Finally, the optimal mix proportion of desert sand concrete was obtained. The results showed that: the established models were suitable and effective, and experimental results could be analyzed and predicted based on models. When w/b=0.3, f/g=34%, d/f=50%, and WRA=0.6%, the related performance of concrete were optimal, the predicted results of the optimal mix proportion were as follows: the slump and compressive strength were 50mm and 48.80MPa respectively, which basically reached the standard of ordinary concrete of C40 grade. This study provided data to support for engineering application of desert sand concrete.
