Evaluation of Concrete Melting Temperature according to Aggregate Type
This research was conducted as a part of research on recycling concrete waste generated after dismantling of concrete structures.Generally, concrete waste has been recycled by separating aggregate by crushing method. However, in this study, we examined a method of recycling concrete waste by powderizing both aggregate and paste and sintering.Based on the components of the aggregate which is the main constituent material of concrete, the influence on concrete melting property was investigated.Based on the type of aggregate (Limestone, Siliceous stone), the composition and density of concrete were analyzed. The melting point of the powder of concrete waste was quantitatively analyzed using HT-DTA method. As a result of the analysis, concrete with Limestone applied was 80 ~ 100 g less mass than concrete with siliceous stone applied. In the specific case where siliceous stone was applied on the component, the SiO2 component was about 45% higher than that of limestone concrete by about 60%.Concrete with limestone was about 50% higher in CaO content than the siliceous stone concrete at a level of about 78%.The melting temperature was 1187-1380 ℃ for limestone concrete, and 1385-1670 ℃ for siliceous stone concrete. The melting point must be different along the aggregate applied to the concrete and experimentally verified that concrete to which siliceous stone was applied requires higher energy for melting.
