A Study on the Effect of Self-Healing Solid Capsules on the Quality Properties of Cement Composites
In this study, we fabricated self-healing solid capsules using cement powder, an inorganic-based material that is the same as that of cement composites as a part of the basic study to manufacture of self-healing capsule that can heal cracks of cement composites.The main focus of this paper is to investigate the effect of mixing of capsules on the quality of cement composites before considering self-healing effects.Self-healing solid capsules were mixed with 5%, 10% and 15% of cement mass.First, the loss and dispersibility of the solid capsules mixed with the cement composite were evaluated to select the plain mix.Next, The quality evaluation of cement composites by self-healing solid capsule blend was evaluated for Fluidity(flow and air content), mechanical properties(Compressive strength) and dimensional stability(Dry shrinkage).
