Study on Modification Mechanism of Double Expansion Sources Layer Material of Roller Compacted Concrete Dam

  The combination between each layer of roller compacted concrete(RCC)dam is the key issue leading to seepage and instability problems, with the increase of dam height, interlayer leakage and bonding problems can be more prominent.This project utilizes the feature that expansion agent with double expansion sources like calcium sulphoaluminate and calcium oxide can improve permeability and bonding strength by generating ettringite and calcium hydroxide, and puts forward the idea of using fly ash mortar with expansion agent of double expansion sources as the modification material of inter layer of RCC dam.Its macroscopic performance are characterized by permeability coefficient of RCC.The parameters of microscopic pore structure parameters were obtained by using nitrogen adsorption method.Then using field emission environmental scanning electron microscope, the morphology and density of the hydration products of double expansion source material is observed.Its explored from the microcosmic perspective the improvement mechanism that the modification material works on macro performance.The research achievement provide scientific basis and technical support for improving the quality of interlayer combination of RCC dam.
