RC Arch Deck Performance Evaluation and Simulation for Enhanced Deck Width

  Various types of bridges are being constructed and shared around the world, and efforts are still being made to improve and develop existing bridge types to build more economical and efficient bridges.Particularly, researches on extension of girder length have been carried out all over the world.Among them, the PSC type Arch deck bridges have a structural advantage of converting the tensile force of the deck bottom to compressive force, unlike existing decks, and therefore they have high structural efficiency for extension of the length, but they are disadvantageous in terms of construction period and work stability.In this study, the optimum section of reinforced arch deck was calculated, the section was modeled on analysis program, and applied to PSC girder.the static loading was simulated and the linear and nonlinear analysis was carried out to verify the arching effect, safety of the arch deck bridges and the validity of the analysis.
