Superstructure Condition Researches for an Existing Bridge and Some Issues to Accomplish
Within research of manuals for bridge inspection and evaluation by JICA and GBET LLC, 68 existing bridges superstructures condition was evaluated by feasibility study.Based on the research, we constituted Mongolian existing bridges superstructures length.12 to 24 m long and RCC T beam is one of the widely used in Mongolian existing bridges.These research revealed that the superstructure condition was very poor.A primary concern of the superstructure was expansion joint.The expansion joint was evaluated by feasibility study.The evaluation of expansion joint was 2.5-3.5 point which has to have 5 point.The causes of expansion joint was solved by reducing the numer of expansion joint.Reducing the number of expansion joint is very effective for superstructure.These bridges are called integrated bridge.Bridges shall be integrating the area of T beams deck.In this paper, we concerned with the issue of the potential integrated span length of T beam for Mongolian climate temperature variation.Mongolian temperature variation varies from-52.9℃ to +44.9℃ and officially temperature variation is 97.8℃.All the bridge designing must be design 97.8℃ variation.18 and 24 long meter T beam integrated by 3, 4, 5, 6 spans are more possible integrated spans for Mongolian continental climate.When cast-in-place temperature is more than +10℃, the normal supporting movement occurred between 45 mm to 120 mm.
