Coupling analysis on armature-rail contact in railgun
In the process of electromagnetic launch(EML), armature-rail contact is affected by the start-up contact.On account that the location of pulse current flowing into armature is determined by the position of start-up contact, the distribution of current and electromagnetic force in armature is affected by start-up contact.In this paper, the distribution characteristics of current and electromagnetic force in armature is analyzed.The electromagnetic force in the electromagnetic analysis is transferred to the structural analysis via the method of electromagnetic-structure coupling analysis, and the distribution of armature-rail contact pressure is acquired.Some armature contact parameters and the concept of armature contact efficiency are proposed.The relationship between contact parameters and contact efficiency of armature arm with different lengths is acquired by a series simulations.
