The calibration of the B-dot probes for magnetic induction intensity measurement in electromagnetic emission experiments

In electromagnetic emission, B-dot probes can measure the spatial magnetic field, as well as the armature velocity. In this paper, self-developed B-dot probes are calibrated based on the B-dot probe magnetic induction principle. The working principle of the calibration system is described in detail, andthe calibration data of the B-dot probes are analyzed. Not only does the experiment verify thatthe magnetic field intensity is proportional to the time integral of inductive voltage of the B-probe, but also the sensitivity coefficient of each probe can be calculated through programming. And then, a set of magnetic-field component along rail was calculated through analyzing experimental data sets acquired by armature probes in the electromagnetic rail gun experiment.
