Effect of a certain additive used in modified single base propellant
In order to further improve the combustion performance of the modified single base gun propellant,a certain additive was added in the process of the preparation.The results show that compared to the propellant without adding the additive, the diffusion depth of NG and NA are deeper in the propellant with adding the additive.The diffusion depth of NG increases from 270um to 350um and the depth corresponding to the maximal value of NG concentration increases from 110um to 180um.The diffusion depth of NA increases from 190um to 270um.The sample with the additive burns more progressively and the value of Pr increases from 0.343 to 0.516.The interior ballistic performance for its propellant charge is improved obviously.The muzzle velocity increases from 916.3m·s-1 to 976.5m.s1.Loading density is enhanced form 0.925g·cm-3 to 0.951g·cm3.So, the propellant with adding the additive shows advantages of higher loading density, more combustion progressive and higher muzzle velocity.
