Analysis on TNT equivalencies of several CL-20 based composite explosives
In the analysis of structures under blast loading, it is common to express the explosive input or charge mass as TNT equivalency.In this paper, ANSYS AUTODYN(R) was used to simulate TNT equivalencies of three CL-20 based composite explosives at varying distances from the explosive charge, based on both peak pressure and impulse methods, also TNT equivalenciescalculated by detonation pressure,detonation heatand detonation velocity were analyzed.The difference among different calculating methods of TNT equivalencewere comparedand analyzed, which is essential for engineering design against blast load and ammunition design.
