Study on thermal hazard of 3,4-Bis(3-nitrofurazan-4-yl)furoxan(DNTF) by using accelerating rate calorimeter(ARC)

  Thermal decomposition of melted 3,4-bis(3-nitro-furazan-4-yl)furoxan(DNTF) in near adiabatic environment was investigated by using accelerating rate calorimeter (ARC).By the experimental results, kinetic parameters of exothermic reaction of DNTF under adiabatic condition was calculated.The thermal hazard parameters, such as the initial decomposition temperature, the adiabatic temperature rise and the maximum temperature rise rate were obtained through the correction using the thermal inertia factor The adiabatic experiment reveals that DNTF has a relative high initial exothermic decomposition temperature, which is 180.7 ℃.The Ea and A were 197.54 kJ/mol and 7.68×1016 s-1.SADT of DNTF was 203.73 ℃.The 5-second delay exploding point calculated is 313.67 ℃, which is constant with the data obtained by the traditional Woods alloy bathy method.
