Numerical study on leakage and diffusion of LPG tanker based on PHAST
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is a common and frequent flammable and explosive chemical.LPG transport safety and emergency rescue are hot spots in the field of public security because of its wide application and huge usage, especially the leakage and diffusion of LPG which may cause flashover,boiling liquid expansion steam and explosion.This paper provided a theoretical basis for better identification of emergency rescue programs and control of the safety of accidents.PHAST (Process Hazard Analysis Software Tool) software were introduced to model and simulate the accident scenarios.The results showed that the diffusion range was inversely related to the wind speed when the LPG leaked.With the increasing of the size of leakage path on the LPG tanker, the diffusion, flash and vapor cloud explosion become greater.
