Study on combustion performance of a new propellant

  In order to improve the total charge energy and muzzle kinetic energy, a new type of propellant was studied in this paper.The combustion increasing factor pr of the propellant and the burning rate pressure exponent of the propellant under different pressure are measured and calculated by using a closed explosive.Compared with 37 hole propellants, the combustion increasing factor pr of the new propellants is not different, but the filling density is increased by 20%, and the burning rate pressure index is less than 37 hole propellants.The experimental results show that the propellant eliminates the void between the particles in the propellant charge and greatly improves the packing density.At the same time, it also has higher gas accumulation.
