Dynamic response of cylindrical and spherical sandwich structures subjected to deflagration pressure released by reactive material fragment
In this paper, the reactive material fragment sintered by Al and PTFE particles is launched by a ballistic gun, the reactive material fragment impacts on a steel anvil in a test chamber after perforating a thin plate, then deflagrates. The deflagration pressure curves are obtained by three pressure sensors and input to the simulation software ANSYS LS-DYNA.On this basis, the dynamic response comparison between cylindrical and spherical sandwich structures subjected to deflagration pressure released by reactive material fragment is studied. The simulation results show that the dynamic response process of cylindrical and spherical sandwich structures have been both divided into three specific stages and the deformation modes have been classified and discussed systematically. And spherical sandwich structures have a better performance in resisting deflagration pressure. These simulation finding can guide well the theoretical study and optimal design of spherical sandwich structures subjected to deflagration pressure released by reactive material fragment.
