Research on laser surface cladding of tungsten cathode with Ni60A Alloy powders
Ni60A alloy cladding coating was fabricated on tungsten cathode substrate by laser cladding to improve the local corrosion resistance of the tungsten cathode. The microstructure morphology, phase constitution, phase distribution and the micro-zone composition were measured and analyzed by OM, SEM, XRD, EDS, respectively. In the paper through static corrosion test, gravimetric analysis,XRD test, and SEM observation of molten salt corrosion morphology, the anti-molten salt corrosion mechanism of the coating was analyzed. The results indicated that the cladding coating had good metallurgical bonding with the substrate. The cladding coating had good convection and diffusion with matrix element. The surface of tungsten cathode produces a loose and non-protective oxidation film, which cannot effectively prevent the internal diffusion of O2 and the external diffusion of F2, accelerating the corrosion of tungsten cathode. The cladding coating has excellent corrosion resistance to molten salt, and its corrosion products are LiCrO2, Li2CrO4, Li3CrO4 and bonding phase Nd2(CO3)3, LiNdSiO4 and NdCrO4.
